FIESTA PILAR 2011

The city of Zamboanga is preparing with a series of activities both at the civic and religious levels for it Patronal Fiesta.
October 12 is the day of the city Fiesta celebrated in honor of the “la Virgen del Pilar, Nana del atun y Patrona del Ciudad”.
Saturday, October 8, was “PIME Day” at the Pilar Shrine. Father Nevio Vigano, PIME, Parish Priest of Our Lady of Transfiguration, was the celebrant at the Novena Mass while Father Giulio F. Mariani, PIME, Euntes Center Director, was the Preacher. In spite of “malakas na ulan” that accompanied us all the way, the usual large crowd of devotees attended the Mass.
Among the devotees of the Shrine, “pilgrims” to the Novena was the Euntes community which was sorely missed this year.
Yesterday, Sunday, October 10, it was the day of the colourful REGATTA which saw the participation of 125 boats. Happy Fiesta to all Zamboangeños!
